CadStd Update

Version 3.7.9 (March 2023).

Many quality improvements and bug fixes.
Wait form is now shows progress and is displayed more frequently.
Splines are now assigned to the current linetype but display only the width of the linetype and not the pattern.
Grid display has reverted to the pre 3.7.8 behavior (do not show grid when the grid is too small to display).
Added a notice in lower right window "(Grid too small to display)" when applicable.
Simplify command improvements (including a detailed warning). Patterned arcs and circles are simplified into individual (solid) arcs and circles. Patterned 2-point lines (non-polylines) are simplified into individual unpatterned lines. You can now preselect entities to simplify.
Improvements to HPGL/1 Reader. AA commands are now correctly imported when they have negative angles. Redundant SP commands (which caused polyline breaks) are now ignored. AR commands are now supported.

Version 3.7.8 (April 2022).

Improved the DXF reader to preserve arcs that are contained within polylines. Polylines with arcs are now converted to individual lines and arcs (instead of just ignoring the arcs altogether).
Fixed a problem with the Join command that occasionally removed one of the lines instead of joining them.
Increased the recent file list limit from 5 to 9.
My daughter, Melissa, expanded the default character set from ISO-8859-1 to Windows-1252. She also defined character sets for Baltic (Windows-1257), East Europe (Windows-1250), Greek (Windows-1253), and Turkish (Windows-1254). The default is still Windows-1252, but this can be changed by going to Settings->Text and choosing an alternate character set. To make your choice the default for all new drawings, click on Settings->Save Settings. We plan to expand the list of supported character sets in the future (these were just the "easy" ones). If you use one of these character sets, let us know if you see mapping issues or are concerned with the appearance of a particular letter. It was quite an education for us to learn about letters with acute, breve, cedilla, circumflex, grave, hooks etc.. This was a big effort for us so there are probably some things that will need to be fixed in the future. We still consider these new character sets to be experimental, but we hope they work for you.

Version 3.7.7 (June 2019).

Added (unofficial) support for DXF LWPOLYLINE (straight line vectors only). LWPOLYLINES are not used in DXF Revision 12 and therefore cannot be officially supported. My main motivation was to allow better reading of DXF data exported from Inkscape. If you export data from Inkscape make sure you use "Extensions-> Modify Path -> Flatten Beziers" (and use a flatness of between .1 and .5) on any paths containing Beziers before you export the data as DXF

Version 3.7.6 (June 2016).

Added Right Mouse Emulation Button. This may be useful on touchscreens where a mouse is not available.
Major changes to Export->SVG to reduce file size and make more compatible with InkScape (if you need or want to do some SVG editing using that tool).
Made sure that the (save settings) are restored after File->New.
Cancelled modal commands when opening a new drawing.
Updated digital signature.

Version 3.7.4 (Jan 2012).

When importing DXF files the program now checks $ACADVER and warns users if the version is newer than AutoCAD revision 12 (AC1009).
When exporting HPGL files values previously expressed as PU,{X},{Y} or PD,{X},{Y} are now expressed as PU{X},{Y} and PD{X},{Y} (this was done for improved compatibility).
Values entered such as 1/2 are now interpreted as .5 when using metric units.
Added a range check for text types.

Version 3.7.3 (Feb 2011).

Added DAE export format to support third party 3D programs that are incapable of reading DXF files (like the free version of Google SketchUp 8).
Suppressed floating point overflow errors that occur in some HP printer drivers.
Reduced repaints during selects.
Removed useless ComboBox in Text Type dialog box.
Added a repaint after Gap command entity change.

Version 3.7.2 (March 2010).

Fixed a bug that caused HPGL export (ERROR 103) on files with arcs and circles.
Filtered the entities for Gap command to find only find lines, arcs and circles.
Fixed a problem with Undo after include file that was not removing some elements that were included.
Fixed a problem with Query that reported area incorrectly when settings dimension unit was Feet+Inches.
Snaps now work on arrows.
Diameter symbol now represented by generic currancy ¤ (ALT+0164) in text entry boxes.

Version 3.7.1 (May 2009).

Output units for DXF export are now the same as the dimension settings units.
Added ability to create PDF, Postscript and SVG in CadStd Lite with a watermark that reads:

Added "Write to PDF file" option in the printer dialog box (Pro only).
(This will enable the creation of small paper size, multi-page PDF files for scale model aircraft etc.)
Added "Join" command to connect two lines or polylines into a single polyline.
Added new keyboard shortcuts:
- F5 - repaints the screen.
- Up, Down, Right, Left arrow keys now pan the window a short distance.
- Ctrl + (Up, Down, Right, Left) arrow keys pan the window a larger distance.
- A - Snap between two arc tangents.
